Yes. And no. If it makes you happy and you enjoy it, sure. If you'd rather contribute to another player being able to obtain 50/50 in their HoM with an obby set, you could do that too.All depends on what you would enjoymore.

What class? There are some classes you can mix and match some pieces and have nice armor without needing to buy obsidian. Then there's some classes that just don't have many options.
Personally, I wouldn't buy obsidian for anything but ranger or mesmer. But then GW:EN solved that with obsidian on the cheap (with a long coat!) for female ranger. Problem solved! If I even bother to farm up the 105 EnS, it would be for mesmer. Which I don't play very much.
I know that for many players, obsidian is the obstacle to get over for 50/50. Since I'm not terribly fretting over 50/50, I'm not farming for it unless I decide for some reason, I just have to have it.

I got the armors I liked, and really didnt care about what others thought...so if you like the armor then yeah, get it, if you are only getting it to impress others, one set is plenty.
